OSH KOSH 2008
The official EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2008 Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) is now available for download from the EAA AirVenture website. The easy-to-print PDF document contains the Special Flight Procedures in effect for Wittman Regional Airport and alternate airports from 6 a.m. CDT on Friday, July 25, to 11:59 p.m. CDT Sunday, August 3, 2008. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh runs from July 28-August 3.
If you're flying an aircraft to Oshkosh, the EAA AirVenture NOTAM is required reading and an important part of your preflight preparation. The NOTAM outlines all arrival/departure procedures, radio frequencies, Wittman Regional Airport details and much more. Although many of the procedures are similar to previous years, there are updates in nearly every area to enhance safety, efficiency and convenience.
As you plan your trip you should be thoroughly familiar with the NOTAM procedures for your aircraft type and your primary and alternate airports. Pilots are expected to have a copy of this NOTAM available for in-flight reference.
This is an electronic version of the 32-page printed booklet, which is in the final printing stages by the FAA and will also soon be available. Pilots can pre-order the booklet online or by calling 800-JOIN-EAA (800-564-6322).

Day Jet Brings First Service to Sebring Regional Airport!
This past December DayJet stopped to pick up a passenger on its way to Tallahassee. Mr. Tom Derita, a lobbyist from West Palm Beach, was currently enroute when DayJet stopped in Sebring. He has been reading about the DayJet service for about the last year and when it came out, he signed up as a member. As a lobbyist and frequent flyer to Tallahassee, this service has cut about 5-6 hours out of his trip.
“Between driving time to Ft. Lauderdale to catch a flight and going through security
this is a huge time saver,” said Derita. “It is comfortable and affordable. One of the nice benefits is that if I need to leave early, it might cost me a little more, but it can be arranged much easier than dealing with an airline.”

Another win for Audi, the first for Acura and Andretti Green Racing, and the most exciting finish in race history marked the start of the 2007 American Le Mans Series on Saturday. Marco Werner, Emanuele Pirro and Frank Biela drove to victory at the 55th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in one of the most thrilling editions of the Florida classic in its history.
It marked the second straight Sebring win and ninth victory in as many races in the short life of the diesel-powered Audi R10 TDI. Werner crossed the finish line after 363 laps for his third victory in five Sebring starts. Biela won for the fourth time in America's greatest sports car race (tied with Tom Kristensen), and Pirro won for the first time since 2000. Read Full Story Here. |
